The Glass Key - 1949
This book tells the story of a early television production from start to finish. It was printed by CBS in 1949. It follows the production of one episode of CBS Televisions 'Studio One'. The story that will be televised is an adaptation of Dashiell Hammett's 'The Glass Key'. The teleplay was produced and adapted by Worthington Miner and directed by George Zachary. It starred Donald Briggs, Lawrence Fletcher, Jean Carson and Betty Furness as the commercial spokeswoman. The announcer for Studio One was Paul Branson.
Lots of nice info about the early days of television production. My favorite picture is on page 12. The black cat looking at the crazy humans. So please put on your Sunday best and gather in front of the TV or computer monitor and enjoy.
